Everyone including the teen moms are surprised at what a run away hit their gestational drama has been.
Things are getting even more intense in season 3 as we delve into more about these young girls' personal lives. This week's episode was mainly focused on Farrah and Amber.
Farrah is having trouble making ends meet so she reaches out to Sophia's father's family in the hope of obtaining social security funds. Sophia's father died in a car accident and she never go to meet him. His family and Farrah's family did not support their relationship. This is the first season Farrah open up about her struggles and breaks down over the death of Derek. It's extremely sad, especially when Derek's sister agree to meet with Farrah and gives Sophia a photo album of her dad. The sister agrees to take a paternity test; so I hope all works out for Farrah because she is really trying to create a good life for her daughter.
Amber is a different story. She is so young and so naive and she is not making good choices for her daughter Leah. This week, again, she fights with Gary in front of Leah and hits him numerous times. MTV constantly aired PSA's about domestic violence during commercial breaks in a conscious effort to let their young audience know this is not acceptable behavior. Amber needs to get things under control. She was clearly too young to have a child. I hope she gets the help she needs.
Though this show is widely popular I hope it is convincing young girls to not have babies during this important period of their lives.
There has also been some backlash because each of the four girls has appeared on the cover of some magazines to tell their stories. You can't blame them for trying to make some extra money for their children (though I think we all know how Amber uses her money-tan much?). What do you think? Is MTV exploiting these young girls?

Bye bye Bolty
They are starting to weed out the weaklings. Another old man was sent packing on last night's Dancing with the Stars. For some reason I was hoping that based on his silky smooth voice and romantic music he might be light as air out on the dance floor. Wrong, he was as stiff as a board.
Brandy also fell to the bottom. Is it me or is she a diva? Newsflash Brandy, it's not 1999, it's 2010 and you've gone through some hard times, be a dear and kill them with kindness. You need the votes. Maksim better kick her butt.
And, whyyyy is Briston Palin getting votes? I have a conspiracy theory.
Next week Margaret's got to go.
Also, I'm loving Kyle. I can't get enough.

And they're off! Amazing Race in your face...
I've been saying for too many years now that my sister and I are going to try out for the Amazing Race. Maybe one day, but for now I'm content with watching it on Sundays.
Thanks to Youtube the best part of the first episode was revealed a few weeks early and could be found all over the newsfeed on Facebook. Friends Brooke and Claire go the the watermelon challenge, however, the task of launching watermelons at knight's armor literally backfires and the small watermelons goes flying into Claire's face. It is quite possibly one of the worst things I've ever seen. However, Brooke gives her a pep talk after and tells her she must continue. They don't call it the Amazing Race for nothing.
This year's cast is pretty fresh looking. You have your couples, best friends, doctors, father and son (and supposed internet sensations), beach volleyball players, Miss Kentucky and her dad and singers (aka the nerds).
The most unique pair is a biological mother and daughter who recently reunited. Andie became pregnant as a teenager and gave her daughter Jenna up for adoption. The two recently reconnected and decided to spend quality time together on the Amazing Race. This should be interesting because they admit they don't know each other well and have only met in person several times before being selected for the race. I wish them luck this is quite the task to take on with a perfect stranger.
SPOILER ALERT: Ron and Tony are the first to go. Turns our their brains and their friendship didn't cut it.

Saturday Night Lame
Every time an absurd news story breaks I wait on pins and needles to see how Saturday Night Live is going to handle it. In the summer months, when the show is on hiatus, I am sad whenever there is a missed opportunity for satire.
Well, Saturday Night Live came back Saturday with host Amy Poehler and the headline-making musical guest Katy Perry.
Poehler was mediocre. She was never as funny as her Second City counterpart Tina Fey.
And now for a segment I like to call 'Highs and lows':
Highs:
Justin Timberlake made several appearances, the best one being 'Actor II Actor' with Andy Sanberg. Andy asks him when he is going to make music again which prompts just to rip his mic off and walk away. Andy replies 'People just want to dance again!'
Weekend update. It was nice to have two anchors left.
Bronx Beat featuring Katy Perry doing a lowcut Elmo shirt. Very scandelous and the jokes were endless.
Lows:
The digital short. Step up your short game Sanberg! Boogerman, really!
Tiny hats
The Mosque commercial. It was slightly insensitive to say the least and at the last minute you realize the writers made it a political ad to help curb the backlash.
The first one out of the gate is always rough. It was good to see some old cast members back (Fallon, Rudolph, Fey); but they better step up their game. They've trimmed the fat, introduced 4 new talented cast members, and now its' time to make me laugh.

Glee does Britney
Yeeeessss, next week Glee with be doing a Britney Spears episode and the best part is Britney is in it! I can no longer contain my excitement because I love Britney Spears. I've seen her in concert twice, own all her cd's and can sing all her songs word for word.
It should be a fabulous circus. And, I sure hope it trumps the Lady Gaga episode, which in my opinion, was just eh.

Looking for something to watch?
If your DVR is not as clogged as mine these days and you are looking to step up your TV game then check out Entertainment Weekly's list of '21 New TV Shows.'
If you ask me this looks like a lineup of shows that you can expect to get canceled.
I haven't watched a single one on the list. Have you? Let me know what you think.

The Hoff is history (already and again)
I have to admit I didn't even see this one coming. Even the Hoff didn't. He was a little stiff but I've seen worse. I thought for sure Margaret Cho might be a goner. Her performance was straight up goofy. I think this just proves the Hoff doesn't have the same popularity here as he does in Deutschland. First he gets the boot from America's Got Talent then he gets the first ax on DWTS (ouch!).
Next to go...Bristol or Margaret!

Dear GMA,
Do you have a knack for being brutally honest? Do you often dish out advice to your friends, family or even strangers even if they don't ask for it? Well, Good Morning America might have a job for you!
Second highest rated morning show is looking to spice up their morning segments and reach their online audience.
The 'Dear GMA' contest is seeking an online guru. To enter you must write a 300 word essay explaining why you would be good for the job as well as answer a series of questions online and include a photo. Easy enough right. Viewers will vote on who they think is best for the job. The full-time position is expected to be filled by early next year.
Good luck if you enter.

It's a fresh idea. I sure sick of some of those cheesy segments the morning shows keep on loop. This one is kind of like the modern Dear Abby.

Week of winners
On reality television everyone is a winner right? Well kind of, some get other TV roles, some get book deals or magazine cover or modeling jobs; but the real winners get a sweet check, and an all expenses paid publicity tour.
This week featured some big reality show finales and some big winners and some unlucky losers. Then again, the other great thing about reality shows is sometimes the runners-up make out big or better than the actual winner.
Here’s a round up of the big wins.
America’s Got Talent: In an upset Michael Grimm, a crooner who won the audience with his rendition of ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’, beat out little Jackie Evancho who previously wowed the masses with her mature and melodic opera voice. Maybe Ellen will sign Jackie to her record label; she likes to scoop of the youngsters who are talented beyond their years.
Grimm gets a million dollars; which he says he will use to buy his grandparents a home because they lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. He will also get to tour on the America’s Got Talent Tour.
Top Chef: Apparently the announcement of winner Kevin Sbraga as winner of Top Chef: Washington DC was not much of surprise. Apparently, Bravo blew the lid of this one an hour before the show. Sbrago along Ed Cotton and Durham, Connecticut native, Angelo Sosa were the final three left standing.
Sbraga a New Jersian (man they make great reality show personalities) will will receive a $125,000 cash prize and a showcase at Aspen's Annual Food & Wine Classic.
And last but not least (well maybe least)
Big Brother: Hayden Moss, a 24-year-old college student won the $500,000 prize thanks to the 4 to 3 vote. Congratulations you weren’t too over dramatic or conniving to get the ax. Do we even care who wins Big Brother 12?! No, not really.

The VMA's featuring the usual suspects
Turn on the radio and you're likely to hear Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Rhianna, Kei$ha, Taylor Swift or one of the many hip hop crooners such as Usher, Bruno Mars or B.O.B on loop. Those are pretty much the only artists making the rounds at last night's MTV Video Music Awards. Yawn.
Chelsea Handler stepped up at the first female host in around 10 years; too bad she isn't funny. I might be one of the only girls I know who finds her dry and irritating. She did, however, encourage guests and award recipients to be on their worst behavior. That failed, unless you take great offense to Lady Gaga's meat dress.
The 2010 VMA's were not the craziest to date but there were some good parts. Eminem is back and he opened the show with a powerful performance with a surprise appearance from Rhianna (who was slightly off key). Too bad Eminem bailed to go perform on the East Coast with Jay-Z. I would've liked to see him humbly accept his awards.
Bieber blew the young ladies away with his outside performance. That kid can dance. Bieb's mentor Usher blew the ladies away inside with this major choreography.
Taylor Swift seemed petrified to be on stage again after last year's Kanye catastrophe. Her song was good; but Kanye's was better. He toasted all the 'scumbags'. Both Swift and West had hidden messages behind their performances; but what I think we were all waiting for was for the two of them to appear on stage together.
It's pretty clear the VMA's are all in good fun. I get sick of the favoritism but I tune in for the performances. Maybe I'm getting old but I remember the days where rock bands used to scale the stage apparatus and Britney Spears used to wear snakes.
Here's a roundup of the winners:
Collaboration: Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce, "Telephone"
Female video: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Male video: Eminem, "Not Afraid"
Hip-hop video: Eminem, "Not Afraid"
New artist: Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris, "Baby"
Pop video: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Rock video: 30 Seconds to Mars, "Kings and Queens"
Dance music video: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Art direction: Florence and the Machine, "Dog Days Are Over"
Choreography: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Cinematography: Jay Z and Alicia Keys, "Empire State of Mind"
Direction: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Editing: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Special effects: Muse, "Uprising"
Breakthrough video: The Black Keys, "Tighten Up"
Video of the year: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"

This little girl can sing!
I don't watch America's Got Talent too often; but 10-year-old Jackie Evancho caught my eye on a night when nothing else was on. This little girl sings opera like she is a 30-year-old woman. It's beautiful, and if you know me you know I do not really enjoy watching people sing. She received the most votes and has made it to the top 10 finalists.
Stay tuned but I think she's a shoe-in.

See you later Danielle Staub
Another one bites the dust. Danielle Staub announced last night on Part 2 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show that she will be exiting one of the most popular series of the franchise.
This news broke a few weeks ago as Danielle made headlines when she announced she is now part of the gay community. It's fair to say that Staub is one of the most hated housewives and has had several blow outs with each of the housewives on and off camera.
I'm not sure I will miss her and I'm excited to see who they will replace her with. I really hope that Kim G doesn't move into the open slot. She is a whole lot of drama herself.
The lives of the housewives seem to be in shambles right now. The franchise is falling apart. Last week Real Housewife of DC, Kat Ommanney, announced her divorce from her well-known Whitehouse photographer husband. Her book deal is on hold as the ending to her storybook life has changed.
Teresa Guidice, of the New Jersey cast, is facing fraud charges after hiding some $250,000 from authorities when declaring bankruptcy.
Lynne Curtin, of the OC cast, is not coming back either. It is unclear if this was her decision of Bravo's. She claims to be pursuing other endeavors.
Staub also claims she has a variety of options at the present time. We'll see how these reality darlings can parlay their entertainment careers into something lucrative other than a skincare line or a Playboy deal (Yes the Whitehouse crasher is set to appear).
The Beverly Hills series begins Oct. 12.
