Busted brides...
The tagline: "The only competition where the winner gets cut."
Just when I think I've seen it all. We all know by now I am a huge fan of reality tv, the good, the bad and the ugly. 'Bridalplasty' has to be one of the worst ones I've seen in a long time.
So here's the premise: Girls compete in challenges to win various plastic surgery procedures. The girls who handles it the best wins their dream wedding. Contestants must be away from their fiance for four months and in the end the groom doesn't see his bride until her final reveal at their wedding. Whatttt?! How is this going to work. These people have to be nuts. Who's fiance would comply to this? Didn't we learn from the failed 'Swan' that the backlash of these shows are worse than the ratings?
I'm totally disgusted by this. Surprise, surprise this show is appearing on E!, the same channel who is also showing the critcized 'documentary' style show 'What's Eating you' about people (men and women) struggling with eating disorders. The show fails to capture the seriousness of those kinds of disease like AE's 'Intervention'. The E! channel has a series of superficial reality shows that send those cliche blond, thin and void of all common sense stereotypes to young girls.
Shanna Moakler, who has had her fair share of surgery's, and is better known as the cuckoo ex-wife of Travis Barker and former Miss Universe contestant hosts. Who better to represent the effect of plastic surgery?
I hope E! seriously reconsiders this one or I hope the media's attack on the show causes E! to cancel it. What a bad example this sets for women in general.
I won't be tuning into this one.
(I kid about the title of this blog postin; but I love alliteration)
