Most of us know and love Julia Stiles from the 2001 teen flick 'Save the Last Dance'
Stiles has come a long way since her early teenage roles.
I was pleasantly surprised to to see Stiles pop up on Dexter this season as the tortured but strong-willed Lumen Pierce. Dexter fans are always left pondering what other twists and turns can make our palms sweat each season.
Last season's Trinity killer seemed to be the Holy Grail of serial killers. Rita's death shook viewers to the core and left us wondering how will Dexter cope with this one? He is so void of emotion and now he has a young baby and so many deep, dark secrets to grapple with.
At first I thought Lumen was just another character who manages to get in Dexter's way. Little did we know she has an agenda of her own. Dexter and Lumen are teaming up and this can only spell trouble. Dexter is letting Lumen in and even introducing him to Harrison. They are killing together and working as a calculated, evidence free duo seeking justice and revenge.
I like it; but Lumen is a mortal. She is possessed by rage and merely wants revenge on the men who hurt her. What happens when Dexter continues on after Lumen's men are done?
I really hope Julia gets a Emmy nod for her role. It is so much different than any other character she has played. How genius is it for the writers to team Dexter up with someone who feels the same motivation to kill as Dexter?
