Grey's finale gives viewers palpitations

WARNING: This blog entry may contain spoiler alerts.

I'm still seeking a sedative after last night's season finale of Grey's Anatomy. After two lackluster seasons plagued with behind the scenes drama this season has definitely upped the ante with some heart stopping drama and action.

Last night's two-hour blood pumping, bullet infested, tear-jerker contained essentially every element of drama in the screenwriter's handbook. Its as if Shonda Rimes broke out her Mad Lib book to conjure up this ratings gem.

In a nutshell: Meredith finds out shes pregnant; but doesn't tell Derek right away because he is stressed. Cristina gets into an elevator and instructs an older man to Derek's office when he asks where he can find the chief. Enter mayhem. On his way he shoots an intern and then continues on to shoot almost every single intern. No problem though, because they are due for a new set of interns next season and only one or two really stood out (aka-that one with the really pretty blue eyes!). Mandy Moore makes a surprise cameo as a cool patient who helps Miranda (Sort of. I was soooo disappointed in her!) Derek gets shot. Cristina has to save his life (blue eyes helps save the day). Owen gets shot; Meredith has to help him and while helping she has a miscarriage. Derek lives. The original chief (Richard) talks down the shooter who set out to kill Richard. Its a wrap. Phewww. What a ride. This was perhaps one of the best season finales I have ever watched! Top that Lost!!!
